    Analyze your flow performance

    Now that you’ve set your flow live, learn how to monitor and measure the success of your flow.

    Monitor performance in the Flows tab

    Once you create a flow in Klaviyo, it’s important to monitor its performance over time. That way, you can make improvements where needed to boost revenue and increase engagement. Note that you will need to have integrated your account with an ecommerce platform in order to view revenue performance. Venture into the Flows tab and take a look at how to do just that.

    Performance overview

    When you click the Flows tab in Klaviyo, you'll see an overview of flow performance with a full list of all of the flows in your account. Within this overview, you can filter your data by flow status, tags, timeframe, and your desired conversion metric (e.g., Placed Order) to access the information that matters most to you.

    Message analytics

    For individual flow messages, you can see data around engagement, revenue, and successful deliveries. Click Show Analytics in the top menu to expand this information for each action in your flow.

    Build a reporting strategy

    Outside of the Flows tab, you can also use the Analytics tab to enhance your sending strategy. Below are 3 reporting options to help you analyze your flow strategy over time.

    Before drawing conclusions, keep your sending volume in mind. For example, if only 2 customers have entered your abandoned cart flow thus far, that's not enough data to evaluate your flow's performance.

    Compare your performance to others

    Use benchmarks to compare your flows’ performance to that of similar companies or industry averages. Head to Analytics > Benchmarks > Flows, and note which performance indicators (open rate, click rate, etc.) excel, and which need improvement.

    Visualize flow progress over time

    Quickly visualize flow data points and trends across a set timeframe within dashboards. You can evaluate your performance within a pre-established Klaviyo dashboard, or customize your own.

    Click Analytics > Dashboards. Then, select the Overview Dashboard to assess flow data in cards that Klaviyo assembled for you.

    Schedule a recurring flows report

    Have a specific question to answer, or want to monitor flow performance on a set schedule? Head to Analytics > Custom reports to either build a flow performance report from scratch or use a pre-built template that aligns with your use case.

    Say you want to track monthly revenue from flows. Navigate to the Reports Library and use the Klaviyo template entitled: Email Flows Revenue by Month. Schedule this report to send updates to your email on a monthly basis, keeping you up-to-date.
